Description: This chart compares and contrasts how one would answer the same questions from a Western versus an Eastern worldview. This is to help individuals see clearly how at odds these two world views can seem, while also explaining the rationale behind some of these differences.
Purpose: We often don’t realize we are stumbling upon cultural differences until we meet a point of tension. This chart was made to help individuals see clearly how at odds these two perspectives can seem. While these two ways of viewing the world may seem different, the chart also communicates that while these world views have deep roots, what is considered the “right” or “wrong” way to do things is often culturally subjective.
